One of my favorite ways to choose gifts is by recommendation. When a friend really loves a cookbook, or a family member really loves a knife set, I like to keep track of these items on my Amazon Wish List. Then, I either order these gifts for friends and family, or for myself ? All of the items listed below are either products that I own, love, and trust, or items that I have on my Amazon Wish List. They are all products that I think would make great Mother’s Day gifts for all of those mom out there who love to cook. Hopefully my kids will read this Mother’s Day Gift Guide and choose a gift for me! I love to make dinner, bake, and especially love tea and cookies. ❤
Gift Ideas for the Mom Who Loves to Make Dinner
There isn’t a mom on the planet who wouldn’t love this Le Creuset Dutch Oven! This enameled cooker comes in a variety of colors…there is one to match every mom’s kitchen. This is a great pot for making soups, roasting meats, and even for just boiling water for pasta. You can’t go wrong with this one.
This is an incredible vegetarian cookbook that offers well-flavored and creative alternatives to having meat for dinner. All of the recipes have options for making the recipe gluten or dairy free, as well as vegan. The recipes for baked goods all have an emphasis on whole grains and reducing refined sugars. This is a great pick for the mom who loves to try new and creative, healthy recipes.
In my opinion, you can never have enough cutting boards. We have a similar set of bamboo cutting boards and we use them every day. They are beautiful, hold up well, and even make for an eye-catching photo backdrop if you’re like me, and like to snap pictures of your food as you are preparing it.
A good knife set is irreplaceable in the kitchen. Our knife set is tired and I have this set on my Amazon Wish List. I hope my kids read this post and buy me a nice new knife set for Mother’s Day ?
This is a “vegetable forward” cookbook and it’s lovely. The book is broken up by season and the recipes highlight the colors and flavors of seasonal produce. My friend Scott has been making recipes from this book for our monthly neighborhood dinner parties. Each dish has been unique and filled with flavor.
Gift Ideas for the Mom Who Loves to Bake
I just added this ceramic loaf pan to my own wish list. There are many color options, it’s nonstick, and it’s a green baking product, so no harmful chemicals were used when applying the nonstick surface. Best of all, it’s also only $8.00!
I have a very similar dough scraper that Britt got me many, many, years about from Lamson, which is a shop in Shelburne Falls, MA. I use this kitchen tool all the time. It’s great for proportioning dough for cinnamon rolls or croissants. It’s also handy for keeping your work surface clean when you are working with bread doughs. If your mom is a bread baker, she will really appreciate this gift!
This cookbook has been one of my favorites for many years. Here you’ll find recipes for many different breads, cookies, cakes and cupcakes, and varieties of brioche. The recipe for chocolate cupcakes with “magic” frosting will quickly become a favorite! If your mom likes to take on new baking challenges and work with unique ingredients, then this is a great choice. Even better, take your mom to lunch at one of Flour’s cafes.
Every mom needs a beautiful bundt cake pan – or two! Nordic Ware makes high quality, beautiful products. In my experience, the cakes always comes out of the pan (which never ceases to amaze me), and each pan offers a unique and beautiful design. If you don’t love this Fleur De Lis pan, check out the other designs from Nordic Ware. I recently purchased this Heritage Bundtlette Pan and I absolutely love it! You can check out my post for Orange Bundtlette Cakes here.
Gift Ideas for the Mom Who Loves Tea and Cookies
My mom will love this teacup and saucer set and this is totally what she is getting for Mother’s Day. I hope she doesn’t read this post carefully. ? I got her a Le Creuset Teapot a few years ago and she adores it. She’s a big tea drinker, and will love the colors and pattern of this vintage teacup set.
Sally’s Baking Addiction is one of my favorite food blogs and an unrivaled resource if you are a baker. Sally has a huge collection of cookie recipes on her blog, and this cookbook is her newest book release. The book is all about cookies. I gave this cookbook to my sister for Christmas and she loves it! This is a great gift idea for the mom who likes to bake homemade cookies. This gift will benefit you as well when your mom invites you over for tea and cookies.
I couldn’t live without my cookie scoop. It is honestly probably the most used tool in my kitchen. I use this scoop for cookie doughs, but also for filling muffin cups, Bundtlette pans, and even for scooping whipped cream or ice cream. Your mom will wonder how she ever lived without this one!
I just recently started using a silicone baking mat. I have always been a fan of parchment paper, and I still am, but I really like the idea of a reusable product. I’ve used this mat for rolling croissant and cookie dough, and have now baked cookies and croissants on the mat. No complaints! Works like a charm every time and I’m beginning to wonder how I ever lived without one of these mats.
